My review:

The Family Illustrated Bible, previously published as The Childrens' Bible, is indeed beautifully illustrated and has excellent photos. I must first clarify this is by no means a true representation of the Bible and as such might confuse even young children.

There is no doubt the format and the contents will be easy for Parents and Grandparents to read out loud to younger children but again I am not sure an older child will actually find this particular publication anything else but entertaining due to the many colourful illustrations. Let me also caution you all stories should not be read to very young children!

That said, the featured biblical stories describe many historical facts of the Old and New Testament and offers a practical map of the lands of the Bible and includes some well know figures but also a few unusual ones for a book geared to the younger generation.

Overall, it would be helpful to some extent for homeschool teaching but it would not be my first choice.

I give it 3 stars.

I received this book free from NEW LEAF PUBLICATIONS as part of their Blogger Review program. I was not asked to write a positive review and the opinions expressed are entirely my own.
